Awesome Volunteer Opportunity!

The Alaska Marine Science Symposium organizing committee is seeking interested student volunteers to help with a variety of work including timekeeping, registration desk, and poster sessions. The AMSS will be held at the Hotel Captain Cook in Anchorage, from 16-20 January 2012.

Since 2002, scientists from Alaska, the Pacific Northwest, and beyond have come to the Alaska Marine Science Symposium to communicate research activities in the marine regions off Alaska. Researchers and students in marine science re-connect with old colleagues and meet new ones. Plenary and poster sessions feature a broad spectrum of ocean science. The Symposium features the latest in the fields of climate, oceanography, the benthos, fishes and invertebrates, seabirds, marine mammals, local and traditional knowledge, and socioeconomic research. This can be a great chance for a student interested in science to meet new people involved in the field, and to get an up-close look at the work required to host the Symposium.
